An AWS outage on Monday disrupted Ring’s home security services, leaving users unable to access cameras or disarm alarms. Ring founder Jamie Siminoff called it a “tough day,” emphasizing his commitment to customers, whom he refers to as “neighbors.”

‘Tough Day’ of AWS Outage

Social media users expressed concern, likening the outage to a “modern scary movie.” Siminoff, now Amazon’s VP of Product, oversees Ring, Blink, and other smart home services. The outage, traced to a DNS error, affected Amazon storefronts, Alexa, and external platforms like Starbucks and Robinhood. Siminoff said Ring is returning to its crime-fighting roots and is promoting his new book, Ding Dong.
