Police in Perak arrested 546 people and seized drugs and goods worth RM284,347.30 during “Op Tapis Khas,” a three-day operation from August 11. State police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the suspects, aged 19 to 65, included 22 foreigners from Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Ukraine, and Cambodia.

Offences ranged from trafficking and possession to abuse under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Seized drugs, worth RM253,471.30, included heroin, syabu, cannabis, ketamine, Erimin 5, ecstasy, ketum leaves, and ketum water. Police also confiscated motorcycles and cash. The operation targeted known drug hotspots, with authorities urging public cooperation to combat narcotics crimes in the state.
