A Muslim man flying to New York was left distressed after being mistakenly served pork by an airline. The dish contained prosciutto, which the cabin crew initially claimed was not pork.

Trusting them, he consumed it, only to later discover online that prosciutto is indeed pork. He confronted the crew, who admitted it was an error due to staff inexperience.
Despite his RM32,000 flight fare, compensation offers of vouchers and miles were rejected as “insulting.” The airline apologised, citing improved training and advising passengers with dietary needs to pre-book meals. The dish served was also reportedly not labelled as pork.
