Malaysia is a rich country and with the billions stolen over the years, it is not surprising that a flood mitigation plan would cost a whopping RM400 million, according to Perikatan Nasional candidate for the seat in Padang Serai, Azman Nasrudin.

He says the proposal was not sent to the federal government yet but adds that engineers from the Kulim District Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) had drawn up the flood mitigation project for the entire area.

He says it costs a lot and the cost is not just for the flood as the river banks had also collapsed in Lunas area and Kulim DID had started to repair damages by building a new river bank.
