A 16-year-old student was tragically killed in a stabbing incident at a Bandar Utama school, allegedly by a Form Two student. Two sharp weapons were seized, and other students were injured.
RM500k Fine or Jail for Sharing Stabbing Content
In response, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) urged the public not to share or upload any photos or videos of the incident, warning that doing so could interfere with investigations and violate privacy.
Legal action may be taken under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, with penalties of up to RM500,000 or two years’ jail. MCMC extended condolences and called for respectful, responsible conduct online.
