He emphasizes the need for harsher penalties due to the rising threat of corruption, suggesting that it cannot be solely addressed through laws but must also be tackled culturally.

Zairudin stresses the importance of awareness and governance practices within companies and institutions. He advocates for collaboration between authorities like the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), NGOs, and corporate entities to comprehensively combat corruption.

His remarks follow the arrest of three individuals, including a senior officer from the Perlis Islamic Religious Department and a mosque imam, for alleged involvement in a bribery scandal related to marriage registrations.
