MOE: Rural Schools Included in Digital Push, Not Left Behind

The Ministry of Education (MOE) reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring rural schools are not sidelined in the national education digitalisation policy. Deputy Minister Wong Kah Woh said 41 out of 110 schools in the hybrid class pilot project were rural, reflecting inclusivity.

Additionally, an AI-powered classroom pilot project will include a school in Sarawak. As of June 2025, over 405,000 educators have undergone digital training, with most at the intermediate level. The MOE is also upgrading ICT infrastructure in 1,801 schools, distributing 31,724 devices under a RM230 million allocation, with implementation planned from 2025 to 2030.
