Announced by Andrey Kaprin of the Radiology Medical Research Center, the vaccine was created through collaborations among research centers. Alexander Gintsburg from the Gamaleya National Research Center highlighted the role of AI in accelerating development. The vaccine works by introducing mRNA to prompt protein production, triggering an immune response to target cancer cells.
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed optimism about the progress, noting the development of cancer vaccines and immunomodulatory drugs.
