A Sabahan business leader has been appointed as an International Coffee Promotion Ambassador during a recent coffee industry exchange event held in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. The appointment was given to Chiew Heng Hock, vice president of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), during the Qiaodu Coffee Industry Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference.

The recognition was jointly conferred by the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Federation, the Jiangmen World Youth Development Center and the Qiaodu Coffee Global Industry Alliance. Organisers said the appointment aims to strengthen international promotion of the Qiaodu coffee brand and enhance industry cooperation with Southeast Asian markets.
Chiew said Sabah has strong potential for coffee development due to its natural resources and unique environment, expressing hope that the appointment would help promote collaboration in supply chains, branding and international market expansion for the coffee industry.
