SHAH ALAM, August 5 – Over 21,000 state civil servants will benefit from a salary increase says Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari who confirms that the new rates will depend on the federal government’s decision, expected on August 16.

“We will follow the federal guidelines and adjust accordingly,” Shari says after launching the state-level Jalur Gemilang Campaign. This year’s adjustment, marking the highest in Malaysia’s history, exceeds 13 percent. The last significant salary increase for civil servants was about 13 percent in 2013.
