Facing a tight Ayer Kuning by-election, Sanusi, PN’s election director, revealed, “Tok wan saya mai sendiri. Tok wan saya pun mai dari Tanah Besar China sebelah bapak saya, kahwin dengan tok saya Melayu.” He shared how his Chinese great-grandfather settled peacefully in a Malay village, married a Malay woman, and raised a family, emphasizing harmony. The revelation stunned even PN leaders, as Sanusi never mentioned this in prior ceramahs.
