Search by scuba team in sinkhole hits another dead end

1 min read

The search for the missing Indian national who fell into a sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India faced another setback this morning. Two scuba divers from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department’s Northern Region Academy began a dive at 4am into a nearby sewer channel, aiming to reach a suspected blockage 44 meters from the incident site.

The team reduced the water level from 1.5m to 0.8m by sealing part of the channel and redirecting the inflow. Despite deploying high-powered pumps and a crane earlier in the night, the dive, lasting nearly 30 minutes, yielded no results.
