Former defeated prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad sent his congratulations to his one-time protege and designated successor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim saying “Selamat maju jaya,” on his Twitter account.
The 97-year-old has largely kept a low profile after losing his Langkawi parliamentary seat and his deposit in last Saturday’s national election and people were wondering if will ever accept that Anwar Ibrahim is finally the PM of Malaysia after all the efforts he made to stop the latter. To us, Mahathir remains an enigma and the most misunderstood politician in Malaysia.
