On Friday, Feb. 4, the number of locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in Singapore tripled to 13,046.
There were 4,087 cases on Thursday, Feb. 3 most from antigen rapid tests that identified approximately 80% of the figures from Friday.
Infections have produced only mild symptoms and are therefore low risk while doctors agree that hospitalisation and intensive care unit occupancy rates are better indicators to determine how severe are the cases.
ICU beds
The number of people admitted to hospitals has not increased as a result of Friday’s surge.
Only 15 of the 375 available ICU beds are still occupied by Covid-19 patients.
