In a media statement on Wednesday, the Animal & Veterinary Service of Singapore says that an African lion had shown signs of sickness on Nov. 8, and a faecal sample was taken from it thereafter which came back positive for SARS-CoV-2 via PCR.

The Zoo has four Asiatic lions who had displayed mild signs of sickness, such as coughing, sneezing and lethargy on Nov. 6.

They were subsequently tested but the African lion had exhibited similar symptoms and was undergoing testing when it was found positive.
