Magistrate Michelle Mykytowycz adjourned proceedings until May 22 to allow defence and prosecution time to address the extensive charges. Cho was arrested in July 2025 after a recording device was found at Austin Hospital. He had moved to Australia in 2018 to study medicine and became a permanent resident in April 2025.
