A 37-year-old woman, Siti Hajartul Haini Abd Hamid, was arrested at Penang International Airport after returning from Dubai in connection with a gold investment scam. Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) confirmed her detention following 69 police reports filed against the scam, which resulted in losses amounting to RM48.5 million. The investment scam is said to be worth RM110 million. The fraudulent investment scheme promised returns based on gold prices through five different packages. Four other individuals, three men and one woman, are also involved. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details about the extent of the scam.
