KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s squash ace S. Sivasangari Subramaniam suffered a shock second-round exit at the US$226,000 US Open after losing 13-11, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10 to Egypt’s Sana Ibrahim. The 64-minute defeat marked her first loss to Sana in six meetings and ended her run of reaching at least the quarter-finals this season.

National coach Ajaz Azmat said Sivasangari, ranked world No. 6, was affected by pressure and mental fatigue. She will next compete in the Hong Kong Football Club Open and Hong Kong Open next month.
