PUTRAJAYA – MACC has detained two individuals, including a foreign chairman of a company, in connection with a paddy fertilizer procurement project involving an agricultural organization. The Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court issued a five-day remand for both suspects, aged 40-50, who were detained after giving statements on Wednesday. Initial investigations reveal that the organization’s promotion and marketing manager had received a quotation from the foreign company’s representative and obtained approval from the organization’s chairman. The RM60 million contract was awarded directly within six days in June 2022 without board approval or price comparisons.
