KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 — The High Court was informed that Umno received RM19.5 million from a “gargantuan slush fund” linked to SRC International Sdn Bhd. Lawyer Razlan Hadri Zulkifli revealed that RM16 million went to Umno headquarters and RM3.5 million to Selangor Umno, allegedly misappropriated under the guise of CSR activities. SRC International, originally intended to boost Malaysia’s energy independence, was described as a deceptive tool for embezzlement. The plaintiffs seek to recover the funds, asserting they were wrongfully diverted by former SRC directors. Umno denies knowledge of any wrongdoing, claiming the funds were legitimate donations for CSR efforts.
