The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, approved the State Fatwa Committee’s decision on GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) after being briefed by the committee’s chairman, Associate Professor Datuk Dr Anhar Opir.

The decision will be partially revealed in Friday sermons across Selangor, but must be gazetted before becoming law. The Selangor Mufti’s Department and Islamic Religious Council discussed GISBH issues, with a report presented by the Islamic Religious Department.
The Sultan expressed disappointment over police reports on GISBH’s criminal activities and ordered the closure of unregistered charity homes and Islamic schools linked to GISBH.
