KUALA LUMPUR – A man was arrested less than 24 hours after two assailants opened fire on a vehicle carrying Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) commander SAC Mohd Nasaruddin Mohd Nasir near Bukit Kayu Hitam on Feb 25. The commander was unharmed as bullets struck only his vehicle.
Suspect Arrested
Authorities suspect cross-border criminal syndicates may have retaliated following recent AKPS seizures, including 100 tonnes of smuggled goods. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution confirmed the arrest and said border safety remains a priority. Investigations continue as Operation Pagar Laut launches Feb 27, targeting maritime crime until April 10.
