A man suspected of assaulting a mentally disabled person at Pasar Tani Padang Astaka was remanded for three days by the Kemaman Magistrate’s Court. Magistrate Sharifah Amirda Shasha Amir Sharifuddin allowed the remand to assist police investigations under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
Suspect Remanded for Assaulting Mentally Disabled Man in Kemaman
The suspect was detained at the Kemaman Police Headquarters. The 47-year-old victim was assaulted by several individuals after his motorcycle collided with a stall, causing the vendor’s food to spill. Police have detained five men aged 18 to 60 and are interviewing witnesses, including the victim’s family.
