Kuala Lumpur: Postings on Twitter by Syed Sadiqq and other users suggest that police will query drivers who hung black flags from their vehicles.
The reports are unconfirmed but Syed Sadiqq says, “I got the news that 30 people will be called by the police for driving in the #lawan convoy.”
“They are just driving cars and flying black flags,” he writes.
He also says, “Comply with SOPs and obey traffic laws. Why be afraid?”
Yesterday, a convoy of 10 cars drove around the city centre in Kuala Lumpur.
They sported black flags to protest against the government. Malay Mail says they were under close watch by the police.
Most of the cars had only single occupants driving around and sounding their horns.
Secretariat Solidarity Rakyat (SSR), the organiser announced the convoy with the hashtag #Lawan on their official Telegram group.
The group is organising a ‘massive’ rally on July 31.
Concurrent convoys were also held in Batu Pahat, Johor; Padang Serai, Kedah; Melaka; Penang; Kuantan and Temerloh, Pahang; Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Kuching, Sarawak, Ipoh, Perak; and Kuala Langat in Selangor.
