Tampines: Couple died in hospital

The crash happened at about 10.35pm on Thursday (Oct 29), MustShareNews reported, citing CNA. A blue Audi allegedly driven by Zulfiqar went through a road divider and crashed into a motorcycle and another car.

The motorcyclist and his 24-year-old wife, who was riding pillion, were taken to hospital unconscious and later died. The driver of the other car, a 25-year-old woman, was conscious when she was taken to hospital.

A gag order has been issued to protect the identities of the victims. The couple were buried next to each other at Choa Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery on Friday (Oct 30), the outlet said.

Police said Zulfiqar allegedly did not render assistance, abandoned the vehicle and fled with a 29-year-old female passenger. Both were arrested near West Coast Road on Friday (Oct 30) with the help of police camera and CCTV footage. The woman has not been charged and investigations are ongoing.

Bail denied, case back on Nov 27

In court, the prosecution argued that Zulfiqar was a flight risk. He questioned this, saying he had not run away, MustShareNews reported. The judge denied bail and he was remanded for investigations.

His case will be mentioned again on Nov 27.
