Factories such as Yiwu Wells Knitting Product, which has supplied scarves and accessories for past tournaments, report smaller orders and hesitation from buyers.
World Cup Merchandise Stuck
Owner Shang Yabing said US tariffs are causing international clients to delay or reduce commitments, with around one million pieces still awaiting approval. Vendors in Yiwu’s International Trade City also note quieter trade compared to previous World Cup seasons, as American buyers in particular hold back. With less than nine months until the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, uncertainty around tariffs continues to dampen confidence.
