Time magazine on Thursday named the architects of artificial intelligence its 2025 “Person of the Year,” recognising the individuals who “imagined, designed, and built AI” for delivering transformative thinking machines. Editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs said no one had greater global impact this year, with AI both “wowing and worrying humanity.”

The cover package features Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son, while addressing darker sides, including a teenage suicide linked to ChatGPT conversations. Time itself has a multi-year content-licensing deal with OpenAI.
