As we are reaching mid 2022, there have been numerous times where netizens were complaining about the ridiculous Grab fares. It has been going on since April this year, rumored due to the lack of Grab drivers available on the system.
A netizen complained that a 23km ride with Grab costs about RM74, while a returning bus fare to Penang from Kuala Lumpur would cost RM68 only. Another replied saying that the original poster should try and use AirAsia ride instead while showing the price difference between them.
A student complained that a 15km ride would cost her RM45, but she has no choice but to use their service as she needs to attend her classes. Some are justifying Grab’s prices due to the jam, however AirAsia ride manages to still be reasonable regardless of the jam. Is Grab being too comfortable as the current king of Malaysian E-haling? Will AirAsia ride topple it soon? We will have to wait and see.
