KUALA LUMPUR: Motorists eligible for subsidised RON95 petrol will soon be able to use the Touch ‘n Go (TnG) e-wallet as an alternative to MyKad verification under the Madani government’s targeted fuel subsidy scheme.
Petrol station workers confirmed that the e-wallet app will introduce a new Budi Madani RON95 icon, allowing users to deduct the subsidised amount directly from their account balance. The feature is expected to go live following updates to the TnG app, providing motorists with added flexibility if they forget to bring their MyKad.
RON95 Subsidy
Currently, MyKad remains the primary tool for verifying eligibility and tracking monthly quotas of subsidised petrol, but the TnG option marks a significant expansion in payment choices. Customers using debit or credit cards will still need to insert their MyKad after tapping their payment card to confirm their entitlement.
