Brother and sister tragically drown at public swimming pool in Ipoh, Malaysia after the eight-year-old boy began to drown and his nine-year-old sister tried to save him, according to Sin Chew Daily. Despite the efforts of bystanders, the two children were declared dead by medical staff at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

Ipoh district police chief Yahaya Hassan said that police are investigating the tragic drowning and are trying to determine if the children were there by themselves or accompanied by parents. The police also reminded parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their children to avoid such tragedies from occurring.
