In the recent U.S. election, voters for Trump and Harris prioritized different issues. Roughly two-thirds of Harris voters saw the future of democracy as their main concern, with lesser focus on issues like inflation, abortion policy, and free speech. Trump voters, however, were mainly motivated by economic issues and immigration. About half prioritized high prices and the U.S.-Mexico border situation, with one-third viewing jobs and the economy as the top issue. Harris supporters expressed more diverse concerns, with smaller percentages focused on the economy, abortion, health care, and climate change. The Republicans are also declared the winners in the Senate race, with Trump’s party winning 51 seats, crossing the threshold for a majority in the Senate.
