President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its CEO Jamie Dimon, seeking at least $5 billion in damages. The complaint alleges that JPMorgan terminated Trump’s and his businesses’ accounts for political reasons, amounting to trade libel, breach of good faith, and violation of Florida’s deceptive trade practices law.

Trump claims the bank acted on “woke” beliefs to distance itself from his conservative views. JPMorgan denies the allegations, stating accounts are only closed due to legal or regulatory risks.
The case, filed in Miami-Dade County, adds to Trump’s broader campaign against “debanking,” with similar suits already lodged against Capital One and other institutions.
