Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi passed away at 7:10 pm at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur, as confirmed by his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin, on Instagram. Serving as the fifth prime minister from October 31, 2003, succeeding Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah led for six years until resigning on April 2, 2009, succeeded by Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies from Universiti Malaya (1964), he leaves behind his widow, Tun Jeanne Abdullah, and four children.
