Former Finance Minister, Tun Daim Zainuddin, was supposed to be brought to court under charges following the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act. However, the prosecution against him was postponed by MACC as Daim is undergoing treatment at a private hospital for undisclosed health issues.
Tun Daim Zainuddin’s court appearance delayed
MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki, expressed disappointment with Daim’s doctor for not transparently informing investigators why the former minister was deemed unfit to appear in court.
Azam confirmed receiving approval from the Attorney General’s Office to charge Daim, who is expected to face charges related to undeclared properties owned jointly with his wife.
