UTAH — Tyler Robinson, arrested Thursday in connection with the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, allegedly confessed to friends on Discord before his capture, according to The Washington Post. Screenshots showed Robinson admitting, “It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.” Investigators had earlier confirmed Robinson’s online communications were under review.

The New York Times reported Robinson initially joked about his resemblance to the suspect in FBI photos, with friends teasing, “Tyler killed Charlie!!!!” Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said Robinson’s roommate shared the Discord exchanges with authorities, including details about retrieving and hiding a rifle. Police later recovered a Mauser .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel in nearby woods, believed to be the murder weapon.
