U.S. Airstrike Targets Islamic State In Afghanistan

The United States military struck back at the Islamic State on Saturday, bombing an IS member in Afghanistan less than 48 hours after a devastating suicide bombing claimed by the group killed as many as 169 Afghans and 13 American service members at the Kabul airport, writes CNBC.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post says the US is preparing for more attacks against ISIS which is a group that is also fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The Post says authorities have warned that another attack from an Afghanistan-based branch of the Islamic State could come during evacuation efforts.
