Following the incident, Cambridgeshire Police received a report of a white van crashing into a hedgerow shortly afterward. The incident occurred on February 16 along the A10 between Chittering and Stretham. The driver, Albert Loveridge, 63, from Wicken, near Ely, admitted to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. He was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on March 13, receiving a six-year driving ban, a 12-month community order, and a £500 fine.
