Motions to be debated and adopted at the Umno general assembly are expected to shape the party’s strategy ahead of the 16th general election. Supreme council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the motions would form the core of Umno’s preparations for GE16, as well as planning for 2026 and 2027 and upcoming Melaka and Johor state elections.

The motions were drafted based on input from the party’s Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri wings before being refined at the leadership level. A special supreme council meeting will be held to approve the motions. More than 6,400 delegates are expected to attend the four-day assembly.
