In one of the harshest reminder of how elections work in Malaysia and how a government is formed without resorting to backdoor deals, an Umno man, Tan Sri Shahrir Samad said Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has yet to accept the reality that he was not the prime minister after the 15th general election.
He suggested that Muhyiddin publicly name those he claimed to be in support of him becoming PM.
“That is why it is necessary to openly state who is in the group of 42 MPs who supported Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) as prime minister through the statutory declarations,” he said on Facebook today.
The post featured a video of Muhyiddin saying that the decision (for him to be prime minister) should rightfully be made by the public and not those in “green and yellow roofs”, an apparent euphemism for the royalty.
