UMNO Supreme Council member Ahmad Maslan advised MCA to remain patient within the Unity Government despite tensions with DAP. Speaking at a press conference after the ASEAN TVET Friendly Match 2025 launch in Kuala Lumpur, Ahmad, also Deputy Works Minister, warned that leaving the coalition would reduce the government’s seats to 123 but not topple it, leaving MCA as a weakened opposition. He stressed that political parties aim to win and govern, not oppose. Recently, MCA’s Kuantan chief, Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker, claimed widespread support among MCA leaders to withdraw from the Madani government while staying in Barisan Nasional.
