KOTA TINGGI – UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid has warned the party against complacency if it wants to win the next general election, expected by 2027. Speaking at the Pengerang UMNO Division meeting in Desaru, he urged members to focus on increasing seats rather than just maintaining existing ones. Mahdzir highlighted the threat of fake news and slander influencing voters, citing how the nation believed slander against Najib Razak when he was prime minister. Meanwhile, he said Pakatan Harapan (PH) needs to understand the feelings of those within Barisan Nasional (BN) on certain issues. “We understand them but they should not always fail to understand our feelings,” he added.
