Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno are facing an uphill battle to reclaim Kedah, as Perikatan Nasional (PN) under Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor continues strong governance. Former Umno leader Dato’ Ali Yahaya dismissed Umno’s efforts to “expose” PN, calling them ineffective and irrelevant. He argued that Umno’s overconfidence is misplaced, as PN’s overwhelming majorities from the last election make a comeback nearly impossible. With no major issues against PN and internal struggles within Umno, Ali believes PN could even sweep all 36 state seats and 15 parliamentary constituencies in the next general election.
