There have been talks between social media users with regards to how elderly people are being treated. The healthcare controversy where a private segment of government hospital is coming into place, and the lack of walkability is a pressing issue especially for the elderly population.
X user claims complacent mentality hindering proper care for elderly people
The user adds that being complacent with what is given to the people is one of the factors why this is normalised. Additionally, some X users say that the disabled are also mistreated in this country.
This conversation stemmed from another post which claims an elderly woman without a smartphone was denied boarding a DRT van (presumably Rapid KL on Demand) that was headed to an LRT station. Users state there needs to be a way for those who aren’t tech savvy to be able to use such facilities.
