Volvo Car Malaysia has officially launched the Volvo ES90, a locally assembled (CKD) electric crossover sedan that combines EV efficiency with sedan-like comfort and elevated ride height, priced from RM339,888 on-the-road without insurance. The ES90 uses an 800-volt architecture and offers up to about 651 km of range on the WLTP cycle, making it one of the longest-range electric sedans available locally.

Powered by a single rear electric motor producing 333 PS and 480 Nm, the ES90 can go from zero to 100 km/h in around 6.6 seconds, and features rapid DC fast charging that can top 10– 80% charge in about 22 minutes at high-power stations. Built on Volvo’s second-generation SPA2 platform, the ES90 also includes modern tech like a 14.5-inch infotainment screen and advanced safety systems backed by the brand’s latest software stack.
Volvo is offering a 2% early-bird rebate for the first 100 buyers who book before March 31, 2026, along with generous warranty packages including five-year unlimited mileage and eight-year battery coverage. With the ES90’s combination of range, performance and local assembly advantages, it is pitched as a strong alternative to rivals such as the BMW i5 and other premium EV sedans in Malaysia’s growing electric vehicle market.
