Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has urged parents to be more vigilant in monitoring their children’s online activities, citing disturbing incidents involving school students.

Speaking at the launch of PsyQiQ Plus and certification programmes by Open University Malaysia, she stressed the need for consistent supervision to protect youth from digital harm.

She revealed that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will address school safety and social media influence at the next Cabinet meeting. Dr Wan Azizah also called for accessible psychosocial support, noting that nearly 30% of Malaysian adults experience mental health symptoms.

OUM introduced new training programmes and a psychometric profiling app for students.
