Former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan expressed concerns over the opposition’s uninspiring leadership, which he believes could result in an easy victory for Pakatan Harapan (PH) under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the next general election. Following the opposition’s defeat in the Mahkota by-election, Shahril criticized Perikatan Nasional (PN) for lacking clear policies or ideas to attract voters beyond its core base. Additionally, former DAP MP Ong Kian Ming noted that PN leader Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s failure to offer a compelling strategy for Johor could further erode public confidence in the party.
