Ahmad Nor Al Faizan Jusoh, 47, a man with a mental disability, was assaulted at the Pasar Tani Padang Astaka, Chukai, last Friday. His wife, Faridah Abdul Karim, 44, insisted that the case would not be withdrawn and left it to the police. Faridah expressed anger and sadness after seeing the video of the incident, describing the actions of traders and visitors at the farmers’ market as excessive, despite her husband repeatedly apologizing. Ahmad is currently being treated at the psychiatric center of Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) and is in stable condition. Faridah also criticized a trader’s RM10,000 compensation demand as unreasonable.
