The man states that he was actually paying his wife the RM2/day salary for her to do the chores in her house. Netizens state that this is well below the minimum wage in Malaysia, and it is unfair for the husband to treat his wife like that. Many are surprised at how common this problem is.
Other users state that even school kids are getting more for their daily allowances. For the most part, even subsidized meals at school could not be covered with only RM2. This would probably be the case 10-15 years ago, but with the inflation we are currently facing, everything is a lot more expensive than it used to be.
