New: Woman Killed in Freak Bangkok Freight Lift Accident

BANGKOK, Oct 12, 2026 — A 47‑year‑old woman was killed and a 25‑year‑old man injured when a freight lift fell from the second floor of a delivery company in Sathu Pradit Soi 34 at about 8 a.m. yesterday.

Bang Phongphang police and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers responded to the incident. The woman died instantly after suffering a decapitation, while the man sustained leg injuries and was rushed to hospital.

CCTV footage showed the man pushing a trolley of parcels into the lift as the woman stepped partly inside. The lift suddenly dropped, dragging her down and causing fatal injuries.

Authorities confirmed the lift was designed for goods, not passengers. Forensic doctors and police examined the site, with investigators set to inspect the operating system. The cause remains under investigation despite an engineer’s inspection days earlier showing no apparent issues.
