SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — A 51-year-old woman was rescued after being trapped under debris when a storm caused the collapse of the Sijangkang state assembly coordinator’s office in Kuala Langat today. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the victim, who suffered waist and thigh injuries, was conscious when extricated at 5.05pm.

The incident also damaged a nearby surau KAFA, where several students sustained minor injuries. Medical officers treated all victims at the scene. The storm, described by witnesses as “tornado-like,” also caused significant damage to a nearby primary school in Banting.
